First Date

She'd never hear the end of it from Angie.  After weeks of supposedly not being interested in dating or romance, her friend was beginning to give up on her as a lost cause.  Peggy could have enlightened her, but she had decided that she wanted to keep her secret, feeling like it meant she could have a little more time with Steve before the real world intruded.  And, technically, there wasn't anything to report to her inquisitive friend... at least not yet.  Although she knew that she would never hear the end of it once Angie realized that the secret fella she had been waiting for was Captain America.

Still, she pretended that she wasn't nervous as she double checked her reflection in the mirror.  She wasn't wearing red, saving that color for dancing lessons.  Instead she had chosen a rich shade of blue that she knew was flattering and she was certain Steve would appreciate.  When she was sure her makeup was perfect, she double checked the seams of her stockings - finally real stockings again - and picked up her wrap and purse. 

Heading out of the apartment building's lobby, she waved at Angie and breezed out the doors before anyone could ask any questions.  She wouldn't have minded having Steve meet her in the lobby but if anyone recognized him, they'd never have a chance to go out on their date.
